Ikebana

Flower arrangement has been given a new meaning in japan. Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement which is also known as the kado or the way of flowers.

It does not only tell the beauty of the flowers but ikebana also contains a spiritual aspect that the artist is trying to pursue. The spiritual aspect of ikebana is considered very important to its practitioners. Silence is an absolute when you are practicing ikebana. The reason behind it is that we need to shut off everything outside and focus on the nature in which we sometimes forget due to our busy lives. Patients and tolerance is also needed when practicing the ikebana. Ikebana can inspire one to identify with beauty in all art forms. This is also the time when one feels closeness to nature which provides relaxation for the mind, body, and soul.
