Cosmos Café & Pizzeria – Celebrity Bartender Night benefitted The Founders Fund’s college scholarships

A “Celebrity Bartender Night’ event was held at Cosmos Café & Pizzeria on March 20 to benefit The Founders Fund; helping to make the night a success were Naples Vice Mayor, Gary Price, and The Founders Fund Board Chair, Robert McNaghten, who served as the celebrity bartenders.

Price and McNaghten served up good conversation and did their part by drumming up tips from guests which brought in a total of $3,500 to benefit The Founders Fund Scholarship Fund.

“We want to thank everyone who came out to support our event,” said McNaghten. “Gianluca Corso and his wife, Eva, owners of Cosmos Italian Cafe and Pizzeria, were most generous to have this event for us. Every dollar helps us to award a college scholarship to a local deserving student.”

The Founders Fund, founded in 1991 by Club Pelican Bay golf members, is a non-profit/tax-exempt charitable organization and since its inception, over 650 students have been awarded more than $3.6 million in scholarships.

In 2017, The Founders Fund awarded 37 Collier County students with $10,000 scholarships for college and post high school education. Students will receive $2,500 per year so long as they maintain a B average or better in their college studies. Currently the Founders Fund provides college scholarships for 96 Collier County high school graduates now attending college and/or technical institutes.

2018 scholarships will be announced at the end of April. For more information, please visit www.thefoundersfundinc.org.
