Going Places Network retail training orientation is only one day away!

Attention all women in need of a better career future! Make a date for a FREE Going Places Network orientation event tomorrow morning, Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 9 to noon at the former Gap location at the Bell Tower Shops. Learn about a free 10-week retail training opportunity, starting on Oct. 5, presented by Dress for Success SW Florida in partnership with the Walmart Foundation and TracFone. Registration for the orientation is required at bit.ly/DFSGPN.

Retail Education Advancing Leadership (REAL) training helps women gain professional skills, accelerate their job search and build confidence through weekly training sessions, one-on-one career coaching and networking in a supportive environment. Participants will learn from successful speakers, attend a job fair featuring well known retail employers, and receive:
·      A cell phone
·      A free outfit for job interviews
·      An expense account to assist with the job search
·      Retail certification at graduation

The GPN REAL initiative focuses on the retail industry as a viable sector-specific employment option for both unemployed and underemployed women to succeed in the workplace and to find upward mobility in their careers. This REAL retail training includes education in communication styles and problem solving, style and personal branding, phone interview techniques, transferrable skills, and leadership and management techniques.

Dress for Success SW Florida is one of about a dozen affiliates of Dress for Success Worldwide to have received a portion of a $2.5-million grant from the Walmart Foundation intended to increase the economic mobility of entry level workers to advance their careers.
Attendance at the orientation is not required for acceptance to the REAL program. For more information, contact Dress for Success SW Florida at (239) 689-4992 or visit dfsswflorida.org.
