KAJ Gallery announces their new upcoming art opening for February 23, 2019

KAJ Gallery announces their new upcoming art opening for February 23, 2019. The new art exhibit will be the second show since the contemporary art gallery’s opening in November 2018.
The upcoming show will feature ceramic sculptures created by world renowned ceramic sculptor Chris Gustin and one of the most exciting abstract painters today, Paul Tamanian.
Gustin is a ceramicist who strives to produce art that challenges the audience to take a second look, questioning if their first perception was the correct one. He received his BFA in ceramics from the Kansas City Art Institute, earned his MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, and has been a professor of ceramics at Parson’s School of Design in New York, Boston University and other universities. Gustin’s ceramic sculptures have been shown in numerous national and international collections.
Born in New York, Paul Tamanian has lived in Tallahassee, Florida since receiving his degree in Interior Design from Florida State University. He came into ceramics relatively late in life, in his mid-thirties. After discovering clay, he rapidly gained basic skill and then began his technical innovations. From his first exhibition at a small gallery in the historic village of Havana, Florida in 1992, he has gone on to exhibit and sell works in prestigious galleries across the United States. Tamanian has been invited to show his works in the company of America’s foremost artists and craftsmen, including William Morris, Jun Kaneko and Richard Jolly. His works have been commissioned and acquired by noted private and corporate collectors nationally.
The art opening will include a special reception with wine and hors d’oeuvres on Saturday, February 23rd, from 6pm to 9pm. The show will run from February 23rd through the end of May.
KAJ Gallery’s focus is to bring some of the finest contemporary artwork to the Naples, Florida community. The gallery is a joint venture by longtime friends Jason Taylor and Kosmas Ballis. Taylor is an accomplished plastic surgeon and is currently based in Los Angeles. He specializes in reconstructive cleft palate surgery for children. Ballis attended the Kansas City Art Institute and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Florida State University. He’s also an accomplished ceramic sculptor who has work in museums throughout the world.
The Gallery is located at 462 Tamiami Trail between 4th and 5th Avenues North. For more information, call 239-234-7918 or visit www.kajartgallery.com.
