KAJ Gallery to host special book signing with Michelle Finnegan – June 14, 2019

KAJ Gallery will be hosting a special book signing on Friday, June 14 from 4-6 pm at the gallery located at 462 9th Street South in Naples. Michelle Finnegan, author of What Does Your Garden Grow, will be signing copies of her new book and will talk about her personal experience that inspired her book.
The book was written in memory of her father and other victims and survivors of Hurricane Irma’s only special needs shelter where generators failed leaving hundreds of oxygen dependent people without oxygen converters or air conditioning.
“Michelle chose this date specifically because it is Flag Day as well as the birthday for the US Army,” says Kosmas Ballis Co-owner of KAJ Gallery. “it’s also the Friday before Father’s Day and her father, Joseph M. Finnegan served in the Army; this event will help honor her father and our dedicated service men; we’re excited to be hosting this event.”
The book signing event is open and free to the public. Books will be available for $30 each. Organic garden inspired delicacies will be generously provided by Café during the book signing. Guests are invited to Café Nutrients located at 285 9th Street South for Mocktails from 7-11 pm.
Also, on display in the gallery is one of Finnegan’s limited-edition prints, Remembering Roots which is reflective of the Apollo 11 lunar patch Finnegan saw often as a child.
She has served on many local and national boards and was given a humanitarian award for her international work. Finnegan launched a community wide event 15 years ago, benefiting 10 local charities with her Prints of Freedom which donates proceeds of each limited-edition print to charities that help people inside the United States who are falling through the cracks.
Former Mrs. U.S of A Globe, philanthropist and local realtor Kristen Weardon from KW Consulting will be helping to sponsor this event. She will be aligning her event promotions with this day as part of her ongoing support in the Naples community. Kristen’s hashtag #OutAndAboutWithKristen can be followed on social media.
“Fruit of the Spirit is the central theme of the evening,” says Finnegan “but like life itself which can be chaotic and traumatic, I hope we can all learn to focus on the beautiful core values to manifest more goodness and beauty.”
