Local business owner Jim Henderson held dedication of first sustainable and attainable solar home in Naples

Jim Henderson, owner of William C. Huff Companies and the newly formed JLH Sustainable Housing, held a special dedication of the first sustainable and attainable solar home on June 4 in Naples.
State Representative Byron Donalds along with Collier County officials, the Above Board Chamber, The Greater Naples Chamber and other special guests were in attendance for the official dedication.
Henderson launched JLH Sustainable Housing, LLC with a goal to construct a home made from mostly recycled materials that would be able to run 100 percent on solar power. The original idea of building the home came to Henderson as a solution in solving the issue of price attainable homes for his employees at William C. Huff. The home was a dream of Henderson’s and has now come to fruition and completion at 213 Benson Street in East Naples.
JLH Sustainable Housing’s goal is to offer homes that are not only affordable to buy but, will be affordable to own with less overall cost than other conventional homes. The homes will provide clean free electricity for the home and a car which can eliminate more than 26,000 pounds of C02 from going into the atmosphere. Using recycled steel also lowers the impact on our natural resources.
