Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida is partnering with Royal Scoop to host 2nd annual ‘Flavor Event’

Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida is excited to announce the second annual ice cream ‘Flavor Event’ to be held at Royal Scoop located at 2307 Estero Boulevard in Fort Myers Beach. The event will be held on National Ice Cream Day, Sunday, July 16 from noon until 6:15 pm.

Wish children have been asked to dream up, create, and name their own ice cream flavor for this special event. Royal Scoop will present the ice cream flavors from the three contest finalists for the public to taste and then vote for their favorite; 50% of all ice cream sales on that day will benefit Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida.

The winning flavor will be selected at 6:15 pm on July 16. The lucky winner will have their flavor featured at the Royal Scoop Fort Myers Beach store for one year with 50% of the winning flavor’s sales benefiting Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida.

The three finalists for this year’s flavor competition are: Alex, a 14 year old boy from Naples who suffers from a circulatory system disease, has created “Oreo Splash” as his special flavor this year. His most heartfelt wish was “to go behind the scenes of the NFL Network.” Alex was last year’s flavor creation winner and he hopes to retain the title this year.

Annabelle, who suffers with cancer, is a 12 year old from Cape Coral. Her wish was to swim with the dolphins in Hawaii. For the competition, she created a “Sweet & Salty Annabelle” flavor; and the third finalist is Jordan, a 9 year old from Fort Myers, battles congenital anomalies. He created “The Funk Cookie” as his flavor. Jordan’s most heartfelt wish was for an emergency department themed bedroom make-over.

The public is invited to taste and vote on July 16. For more information, contact Tammy Lynn at 239-992-9474.
