BONITA SPRINGS YMCA WHY COOK DINNER- RAISES $174,000
Funds to benefit the Sunshine Education Academy and other YMCA programs
BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (APRIL 24, 2019) – The Bonita Springs Sky Family YMCA held its 4th annual WHY Cook interactive dinner raising over $174,000 for the new Sunshine Education Academy (SEA) and other programs at the center. The state-of-the-art facility to date has raised 2.1 million dollars of its 2.7-million-dollar goal.
The annual dinner is led by Executive Chef Jamil Pineda from Michael’s On East located in Sarasota. Guests had the opportunity to cook a 4-course meal tableside.
“We are extremely grateful to the Bonita Springs community for their generosity and support we have had over the past 14 years,” states Mark Suwyn, Advisory Board Chair.
The Bonita Springs YMCA opened in the spring of 2005 thanks to the generous donations of local residents, businesses and community leaders.
The YMCA offers programs for all ages, stages, and abilities, including various sports such as soccer, basketball, pickleball, exercise classes, swimming, water aerobatics, health education and more. Registration is now open for Summer camp. Scholarships are available to families needing financial assistance.
