Placeres represented Preferred Travel of Naples At ASTA Legislative Meetings in Washington D.C.

Preferred Travel of Naples was recently represented at the American Society of Travel Agents’(ASTA) legislative meetings in Washington D.C. by Olga Placeres, CFO and Agency Manager. Placeres was one of nine delegates selected to meet with members of congress on Capitol Hill.

Delegates met with staff representatives from the offices of Senator Marco Rubio, Representative Mario Diaz Balart, Representative Val Demings, Representative Ron DeSantis, Representative Tom Rooney, and Representative Wasserman Schultz.

The ASTA meetings directly connected attendees to members of Congress to discuss issues that impact their business, work life and client experience.

“We are very lucky and blessed to have Olga represent the entire Preferred Travel team,” said Wilma Boyd, President and Founder of Preferred Travel of Naples. “The meetings in Washington are so important to the travel and leisure industry, and the State’s economic growth.”

The two-day trip included a detailed overview of ASTA’s legislative priorities, training on lobbying,
pre-scheduled meetings on Capitol Hill with Members of Congress and their staff, networking with other travel agents from across the country, and tips on following up with your elected officials.
