cid:image004.png@01D4ACC6.8376F3A0An estimated 10,000 yellow Rubber Race Ducks, sporting ultra-cool sunglasses, will appear at Sun-N-Fun Lagoon Lazy River (15000 Livingston Rd), Saturday, February 2nd, 2019. The ducks will tumble, splash, bob, and slosh their way down the Lazy River, racing to the finish line to win GREAT prizes for their adopters. It will be entertainment for the entire family and a water safety festival where families can learn how to be safer in and around the water.

The first 3 ducks to cross the finish line will win $10,000 or $5,000 or $2,500. You don’t have to be present to win!

The Great Naples Duck Race will start at 4 p.m. There will be music, food, crafts, activities including a water safety festival. This is a casual event that will be fun and all ages welcome. The Lazy River will be closed in preparation of the race. The ducks will be launched down and begin racing around the Lazy River at approximately 6 p.m.

All proceeds from the event will support the NCH Safe & Healthy Children’s Coalition of Collier County’s mission to continue building programs that fill gaps in the local safety net. By closing these gaps, Collier County children will have a better chance to lead a life free of SUIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), drowning and obesity.

What Can Your Duck Do?

• Single Duck (1 duck for $10)
Purchase a US Coast Guard approved life jacket for one of the 15 life jacket loaner stands available in Collier County

• Quack Ducks (6 ducks for $50)
Provide 10 swimming lessons for a child including transportation from a preschool program to an aquatic facility. Swimming lessons have been proven to decrease the risk of a child drowning. Swimming is a life-saving skill that everyone needs to learn.

• Quacker’s Dozen (12 Ducks – $100)
Provide 7 water safety presentations at preschools, so children learn to NEVER SWIM ALONE, an ADULT MUST watch them in the pool/canal/lake.

• Super Quack Pack – (24 Ducks – $200)
Provide 33 door/window alarms to families. These alarms can prevent young children from wandering into the pool/canal/lake.
