Preferred Travel of Naples welcomes Nayla Gomez

Preferred Travel of Naples is always proud to welcome new travel advisors and is equally excited to announce their recent intern Nayla Gomez.

Gomez attended Palmetto Ridge High School and is planning on attending Florida Gulf Coast University in Fall 2020. She discovered her passion for travel during a class she attended in high school and realized she wanted to make travel her career.

“While taking this course, I planned and executed a trip as my project — just like a travel advisor would,” says Gomez. “I got the highest grade in the class which made me realize that travel could be my future career.”

After graduating, Gomez and her friends took a trip to Europe where she caught the “travel bug” event more.

At Preferred Travel, Gomez’s responsibilities as an intern includes assisting with creating travel marketing materials for hosted trips; assisting with online client itineraries in the Preferred Travel app; destination research for travel advisors; and other administrative tasks.

Gomez applied to the Preferred Travel internship program to further explore a career in the travel and tourism industry. She is currently working to save her money to pursue her academic studies in travel.

“We love having young talented individuals with an interest in travel at our agency,” says Olga Placeres, COO and General Manager of Preferred Travel of Naples. “You can see the excitement and passion in Nayla’s eyes when she talks about travel and we love that.”
