Registration still open for 2017 Walk For Wishes® presented by Publix

Registration is still open for the 7th Annual Walk For Wishes® 5K Walk/Run, to benefit Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida. Walk For Wishes® presented by Publix will be held on February 25, 2017 at the Florida Gulf Coast University Recreation Fields located at 10501 FGCU Boulevard South in Fort Myers.

The fundraiser is a certified timed 5K walk/run; registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the walk/run begins at 8:30. The ‘Family Fun Day’ which is included with registration begins after the walk/run and includes food, bounce houses, a rock wall, balloon art, face painting and more fun activities. All ages are encouraged to participate in the event to help make wishes come true for local children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Chairs for the fundraising event are Dorothy Blasingim and Tammy Teece of Regions. The goal for this year’s event is to help raise enough money to grant 23 local wishes. The fundraiser is a family-friendly event powered by wish families, volunteers, donors, and friends.

Walk For Wishes pre-registration fees are $25 for adults, $15 for students and $10 for children 13 years of age and younger. Registration is available online at www.walkforwishessfla.net to sign up as an individual or to register a team.
