Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association names new board for 2018

One newcomer joins 10 familiar faces on the Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association (SRMA) Board of Directors for 2018. Cath Maslyn of Naples-based wire manufacturer Pelican Wire brings experience in a broad range of industries to the board this year.

Maslyn serves as Director of Human Resources and Talent Development for Pelican Holdings Group / Pelican Wire. She previously held positions in sales, marketing, finance and training with IBM, was a Human Resources Director with Sun Microsystems, and worked in manufacturing, distribution, medical device and start-up companies.

She also taught elementary school and did business consulting after earning her degree in psychology from the University of California.

Maslyn plans to advocate for the development of a manufacturing training facility that would develop manufacturing jobs in the area and prepare young people in Southwest Florida to fill them. She’d also like to explore the creation of a manufacturing job fair and a local manufacturer’s CEO roundtable.

Ultimately, Maslyn wants to make SRMA more meaningful, dynamic and fun through increased visibility, marketing and influence.

She joins the following board members who will continue in their roles in 2018:

· Brian Rist – (Chair, The Smart Companies)

· Doug Gyure (S4J Manufacturing)

· Peter Bagwell (I Love Oils Inc.)

· Bruce Vanderveen (All American Printing)

· Connie Ramos-Williams (CONRIC PR & Marketing)

· Joe Janoschka (BB&T)

· Kevin Brady (FSBDC at FGCU)

· Dana Brunett (Cape Coral Economic Development)

· Bill Welch (Career Source)

· Warren Beaucom (EDC)

SRMA is making its final call for nominations in advance of its annual awards luncheon, which takes place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Feb. 22 at KJ’s Fresh Grill on 10950 S. Cleveland Ave. in Fort Myers. Send nominations to neilakagan@gmail.com.
