Christopher J. Pacitto, P.E. is proud to announce the launch of Velocity Engineering Services, Southwest Florida’s newest and most diverse geotechnical and environmental engineering, facilities consulting, and building inspection firms. After 15 years of engineering experience and service in the Southwest Florida market, Mr. Pacitto has worked-on such notable and diverse projects as the Boston Red Sox Spring Training Facility at Jet Blue Park, Golisano Children’s Hospital, Southwest Florida International Airport, numerous facilities on the campus of Florida Gulf Coast University, the Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the Holiday Inn on Grand Cayman Island. His technical expertise includes work on sinkholes, test borings, Phase I & II ESA’s, Chinese drywall, pavement, and roofing systems. He is recognized as a local expert in the geotechnical field, and is often called in to handle sinkholes and building foundation issues. The company works directly with local architects, civil and structural engineers, Realtors, bankers, as well as, local homeowners associations. The company’s team of engineers, subcontractors, and subconsultants are some of the industry’s most respected and qualified in their fields.
Chris Portrait – PSA Massachusetts native, Mr. Pacitto moved to Southwest Florida after earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1998. From 1998 to 2004, he worked as an engineer for ASC Geosciences. In 2004, he began working at GFA International as Branch Manager and Vice President until launching Velocity Engineering Services in July 2013. Mr. Pacitto is active in a number of professional organizations such as the Real Estate Investment Society (REIS), Florida Engineering Society (FES), Building Industry Association (BIA), and Construction Specification Institute (CSI) and also currently serves as Vice President of the local chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
