Forgiveness

Hello lovely,

I hope all is well in your world. I wanted to chat with you about the power of forgiveness. I belive this is a subject that never goes out of style and that we need to be reminded of it from time to time. So, lets jump right into it.

We all have different kinds of relatioships, the one with family members, romantic partners, frienships, co-workers and random people who we meet in our daily lives at the supermarket or even at the traffic light. We are in contact with different people all day long. We have all been hurt, wounded and have experienced some sort of trauma at some point in our lives in one way or another. Of course, each experience is different for every single person. None of us are the same or perceive things in the same way, but the one thing we have in common is the need to practice forgiveness. To finally let go of the old memories to regain the power and the inner peace that we lost in the particular event that hurt us.

I’ll tell you one thing, forgiveness is not about the person who hurt you. Forgiveness is a choice you are consiously chosing to make. The individuals who we are chosing to forgive are hurting themselves from whatever wound, pain and heartache someone else caused them. Regardless of the situation it is very important to know that its up to you to take responsibility to let go of any unforgivenes that you might be holding against yourself or someone else. You might be thinking, “Well, why do I need to forgive this person or that person who hurt me too deeply?”… That might be true, but you are now responsible of what you decide to do with it. Unforgiveness is like carrying dead weight around; you are unable to move foward and that is hindering you from living your best life.

Forgiving is not denying that the pain never took place or making excuses for the other persons bad choices. Forgiveness is for your own sake. When you have the courage to take the necessary action and then forgive, you are winning half of the battle. That, my dear, is what I call gracefuly loving yourself with your, I am enough attitude. To do what it takes to get yourself in aligment with who you are and taking it easy on yourself in the process as you shed those tears that will ultimatly help you heal is all consistent of loving yourslef. Nothing ever goes to waste; If you choose to learn and grow from every situation.

Forgiveness is not a feeling it is an action. In other words, if you wait until you feel like forgiving the person it might never happen. Even if in your mind you think this person dosen’t deserve forgiveness, it doesen’t matter do it anyway. All of us have hurt someone conciously or unconciously in one way or another. I’m sure we would also like to be forgiven for our short commings. right? think about it…You will begin to feel much better once you start the process.

Remember you are always in control of your choices. Do what feels good for you. With that being said, I want to Invite you to do this simple exsercise that will be very liberating to you if you chose to do it. Grab a pen and paper and start writing the names of the people that you

know you need to forgive and then burn it! let it go! Don’t think about it just let it be. The simple fact that you are taking action will make everything else happen for you. Continue to do this as long as you need to. It’s a healing process. You will see improvements as you go. some people you might have to go back and forgive them again if any negative feelings should arise eventually they will disapear.

Dealing with matters of the heart is important for your health and soul. Love yourself enough to let go all the things that no longer serve you. It does not matter whatever happened in the past it has no power over you unless you give into to it. All we have is now. Why keep bringing the past into our future and create the same thing? You my dear have the power to change your life by creating a new story. Start by forgiving yourself for all the should’ve, could’ve, would’ve and start fresh today.

Ok, my friend that’s all for now. I hope this was helpful to you. Also if you like to work more deeply on this subject check the book/journal from Iyanla Vanzant, 21 days to forgive everyone for everything. This was a powerful that I used in the past for my own healing.🦋💚
Much love and blessings,
Vilmary Lopez
