Fort Myers, FL – Our Mother’s Home of Southwest Florida, Inc. is seeking your support and attendance at our Annual Hearts of Love Gala at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa on Friday, February 26, 2016. This year we are pleased to announce that our MC of the evening will be Stacy Adams (….), we have added the renowned band Alter Ego and lots of great activites like our photo booth.
Our Mother’s Home provides a safe and nurturing environment for teen moms (12-21) and their babies. These teen mothers have been in the foster care system, victims of human trafficking or have no place to turn. Once a young girl becomes pregnant in the traditional foster care and chooses to keep her child, she finds herself without a home since most girls do not have extended family as a support system. Since opening, 200+ mothers and children have benefited from Our Mother’s Home Mentored Living Program at a 90% success rate of preserving families, transitioning foster mothers to self-sufficiency and saving the lives of children by avoiding their re-entry into foster care.
Our Mother’s Home is the only facility of its kind in Southwest Florida – the vision of foster parent Helen Coppage, who (in her late 70s) saw the need for teen mothers and their babies to be together. Through her efforts, Our Mother’s Home was incorporated in 1994 and over five years Helen, along with dedicated volunteers, wrote grants, solicited contributions and created an architectural plan.

About Our Mother’s Home
The mission of Our Mother’s Home is to transition teen mothers and their children from foster care and human trafficking to stable, happy, and productive lives by providing a safe and nurturing home, education, parenting support along with physical, mental and spiritual care. Our Mother’s Home is a large home with facilities adequate for housing up to ten mothers, ages twelve to twenty-one, and their babies. Their vision is to end the repetitive cycle of foster care and generational poverty that afflicts teen mothers and their children.
