Avow Kids Mother’s Day Celebration Dinner

Avow Kids is planning a Mother’s Day Celebration Dinner for children in the community who have lost mothers or grandmothers on May 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ispiri Community Center at 1205 Whippoorwill Lanes, Naples.

Children and families in the community are invited to bring an adult figure with them, as well as a memento of passed mothers and grandmothers to share. The event is part of Avow Kids, a program to help children deal with loss and create coping skills to handle big emotions. Avow Kids, designed for children ages 5-17, supports children and families experiencing the loss of a parent, sibling, friend or relative. Additionally, the no-cost services help children process and heal from other types of loss, including divorce, instability in the foster care system, deployment, incarceration or the loss of a pet.
