Score summer’s end fun and kids’ soccer dreams at Cape Harbour

The dog days are almost over, but the fun is heating up at Cape Harbour Marina, with a free Say Goodbye to Summer Party at Fathoms Restaurant & Bar from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23. It’s a good time for a good cause, with fun activities and specials to support Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions FC Youth Academy and Training School for kids who dream of playing professional soccer one day.

Enjoy two thrilling water slides for a $5 unlimited pass. Other fundraising activities to support youth soccer include a corn hole tournament for prizes for first, second and third place, with a $50 entry fee per team. Show off your moves in a soccer ball juggling competition for great prizes for $5. More than a dozen great prizes will be raffled off, with tickets for $1 each. All evening long, enjoy live music by local band Remedy and a special happy hour menu, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit kids’ tournaments through the Dutch Lions.

Just in time to fuel your end-of-summer fun, The French Press announces a new partnership with Java D’Oro Gourmet Coffee Roasters, and is now serving only USDA organic coffees. In celebration of National Coffee Day at the end of the month, customers are invited to enjoy a complimentary small organic brew coffee with the purchase of a select Norman Love pastry all through September.
