The Imaginarium Science Center presents their 2014 Imagine Gala – “Underwater Wonders.” This event offers adults the chance to plunge into the Underwater Wonders and enjoy a night of play while exploring the incredible world of Florida’s waterways through its many exhibits. The gala takes place on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 7 p.m. at The Imaginarium Science Center, located at 2000 Cranford Avenue in Fort Myers and calls for cocktail attire. Advance tickets are $75 and must be purchased prior to March 22, 2014. Tickets purchased after March 22, 2014 will be $100.00.
The Imaginarium invites guests and supporters to enjoy live music, fabulous food and drinks, auction items and packages with interactive technology smartphone based bidding, and entertaining and educational displays, all while raising funds for the center’s programs and exhibits. Unique to the gala will be collaborative art pieces featuring the heads and faces of local community leaders enhanced by children’s depictions of their bodies of with a special waterways theme for auction. The always-colorful Eric Raddatz, founder of the Naples and Fort Myers Film Festivals, is certain to entertain the crowd as emcee and auctioneer.
At The Imagine Gala: Underwater Wonders, guests will be able to explore new exhibits that the center plans to complete in early 2014. Watershed Wonders: Caloosahatchee Connections is an interactive exhibit that illustrates the Florida watershed from Lake Okeechobee to the Gulf of Mexico through the Caloosahatchee. Phases 3 and 4 of this project are scheduled to be completed in January. The Water Table exhibit, a hydroponic display including plants and fish, is also scheduled to be completed in January. The Imagine Gala offers members of the community an opportunity to have fun while supporting the development of Southwest Florida’s only science center and aquarium.
