DESCRIPTION:Avow is hosting the complimentary lunch and learn\, Living Your
  Best Life with a Serious or Chronic Illness Through Palliative Care\, fro
 m 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday\, Feb. 23\, at Ispiri community center 
 on the Avow Campus in Naples.\n\nAttendees will hear from Avow Director of
  Medical Services Eileen Fagan Crowley as she discusses the benefits of no
 n-hospice palliative care when seeking relief for serious or chronic illne
 sses. Learn about how palliative care differs in whole-person-centered car
 e and how it can significantly improve one’s quality of life. Palliative
  care can also include psychological benefits for family members of those 
 with a chronic or severe illness. Complimentary lunch is included\; RSVPs 
 are required.\n\nPalliative care provides comfort for individuals living w
 ith serious illnesses such as cancer\, heart disease\, lung disease and ki
 dney failure. The purpose of palliative care is to alleviate the physical 
 symptoms and emotional distress related to diseases and/or medical treatme
 nts. Avow’s Palliative Care team can see patients in the outpatient clin
 ic on Avow’s campus or wherever a patient calls home. Palliative care ca
 n be offered during treatments for illness and its purpose is to improve t
