VOLUNTEER FAIR TO CONNECT AGENCIES TO LOCAL VOLUNTEERS

United Way Volunteer Center Hosts Volunteer Fair on January 8, 2022

Fort Myers, FL (December 14, 2021) – United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Volunteer Center will host a Volunteer Fair on January 8, 2022 at Amavida Retirement Community’s outdoor courtyard: 7820 Fanning Court, Fort Myers, FL; from 10 am – 1 pm. The volunteer fair will be an opportunity for non-profit organizations serving Lee County to match with potential volunteers. Additionally, there will be a Lee Health Blood Drive on site at the same time.

This event serves to highlight over 25 diverse non-profit agencies who serve our community and to engage local volunteers, as well as create awareness for services provided by featured agencies. Our goal is to introduce local community members to volunteer opportunities available to them.

Some of the confirmed agencies include:

Harry Chapin Food Bank, Alliance for the Arts, Children’s Home Society of Florida, Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice Inc., Dr. Piper Center, Blessings in a Backpack SWFL, Children’s Network, NAMI – National Alliance on Mental Illness, Senior Friendship Centers, and Gulf Coast Humane Society.  Many more will be on site as well.

There is no registration required for this free event. Interested volunteers of all ages are encouraged to attend and learn more about organizations serving Lee County, with no obligation to join.  The United Way Volunteer Center will be encouraging social distancing and other safety protocols, including the availability of hand sanitizer, according to current CDC guidelines.  For more information, please email Kim@UnitedWayLee.org.
