Clyde Butcher to receive Lifetime Achievement Award
at the 5th Annual Wine & Wildlife in Naples

(Naples, Fla.) – This year the South Florida National Parks Trust is proud to announce that Clyde Butcher will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 5th Annual Wine & Wildlife event February 26, 2020 at the Naples Botanical Garden.

Butcher is well-known for his large-format camera black and white photographs that show the beauty and bring awareness to Big Cypress Natural Preserve and Everglades National Park. His love of nature in the State of Florida began nearly 50 years ago. He loved it so much that he pur-chased 14 acres of land inside Big Cypress Nature Preserve, build a house and began exploring and photographing in his expansive backyard. His gallery is also on site.

Tickets and sponsorships are still available for the event
Proceeds from Wine & Wildlife will benefit the SWAMP program and others that benefit the South Florida National Parks Trust and efforts to protect, preserve and enhance four incredible parks – Big Cypress National Preserve, and Everglades, Biscayne and Dry Tortugas National Park.
A designated non-profit since 2002, the Trust believes in healthy and accessible national parks in South Florida that enrich and inspire all people forever. Programs and projects in the parks are funded through philanthropic support.
Every year the Butcher’s invite the public to attend a Clyde Butcher Days, a weekend fundraiser with a guided eco-swamp tour through the swamps of Big Cypress National Preserve behind his gallery.

Those funds go to support a program called SWAMP that give sixth-grade students in Collier County the opportunity to become junior scientists and wildlife biologists for a day of field work in Big Cypress Swamp. The Swamp Water and Me Program (SWAMP) will also be highlighted for celebrating 20 years.

Naples Illustrated has signed on as the exclusive magazine sponsor. Stacey Deffenbaugh from NBC-2 will serve as master of ceremonies and Rick Gallo will be the auctioneer.
