MY Shower Door / D3 Glass wins major Lee County award

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 30, 2019) — Southwest Florida-based MY Shower Door / D3 Glass was recognized as “Manufacturer of the Year” at the recent Industry Appreciation Awards event presented by Lee County’s Economic Development Office, the Horizon Council and the Horizon Foundation.

One of the region’s marquee companies, MY Shower Door / D3 glass continues to stand out because of its design and quality workmanship in providing state of the art frameless shower doors and various other glass products. The Manufacturer of the Year Award, presented before 750 people at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point and Spa in Bonita Springs, honors a local manufacturing business in Lee County that “exhibits excellence and growth in leadership, performance, profitability and workforce relations.”

MY Shower Door, founded by the Daubmann family and a business staple in Lee County for over 16 years, has grown from 56 employees in 2014 to over 100 this year with showrooms in Fort Myers, Naples, Sarasota, Tampa and Orlando. The firm also has affiliate stores in Oklahoma City, Okla., Edmond, Okla.; Grand Rapids, Mich.; St. Paul, Minn.; Minneapolis, Minn. and York, Pa.

D3 Glass continues its explosive growth in glass fabrication and tempering, allowing the company to manufacture its own glass and expand the company brand over the past seven years. Its line of products includes bulletproof glass, decorative glass, glass staircases, office partitions and much more.

The Industry Appreciation Award is the latest recognition in what has been a banner year for the company. Earlier this year, it was named to the 2019 INC 5,000 “Fastest Growing Companies in the United States” list for the fourth time and to the list of “Top Entrepreneurs for 2019” by The Business Observer.

MY Shower Door / D3 Glass recently built a new 60,000-square-foot headquarters and manufacturing facility off Alico Road in south Fort Myers. Company revenues have exploded from $11.4 million in 2016 to $16.9 million last year as the demand for the product grows. The company has installed over 75,000 frameless shower doors since 2003.

“We feel that our growth and sustainability is because of our family atmosphere,” president Bill Daubmann said. “Our vision is to grow MY Shower Door into a national brand by offering outstanding customer service and providing the most beautiful and functional frameless shower doors possible.”

The door is always open for the company to connect through community service. It has sponsored the Giving Tree at Golisano Children’s Hospital, collected back to school items for the Salvation Army Mission in Bonita Springs, while also supporting Make-A-Wish of Southwest Florida, Junior Achievement and many school initiatives. Bill Daubmann also is quarterbacking a new Lee County initiative, called “Workforce Signing Day,” where students who enter the workforce directly out of high school are celebrated.
