Preferred Travel of Naples donates bicycles to Immokalee children

Preferred Travel of Naples helped put smiles on the faces of 10 Immokalee children by building and donating bicycles.

Underprivileged children of Immokalee don’t often have brand new bikes of their very own, but this was changed for a small group of kids in late August. During Preferred Travel of Naples’ annual team meeting, the staff of 54 divided up into teams and assembled bikes as a team exercise. After the bikes were assembled, they were donated to Pastor Arnie Coones of First Assembly Ministries of Immokalee.

Kristina and Kody Gear, members of the Preferred Travel team, delivered the bikes to Immokalee to an excited group of children that Coones identified as the neediest in his neighborhood. According to Coones, the poorest of the poor live around his church in downtown Immokalee and are very unlikely to have a new bike.

“It’s important for us to give back and supporting our local community is a huge part of the Preferred Travel of Naples mission,” says Olga Placeres, Owner of Preferred Travel of Naples. “Seeing the joy on each child’s face, when they received their new bike, was the most rewarding part of this donation.”
