The Founders Fund receives $2010 from J. McLaughlin Sip & Shop event

The Founders Fund was the recipient of a Sip and Shop fundraising event at J. McLaughlin on January 29, 2018.

The event raised $2,010 to benefit the Founders Fund scholarship fund. Guests enjoyed light drinks and bites while shopping from the J. McLaughlin resort collections; 15% of the sales during event hours were donated to support the Founders Fund.

The Founders Fund, founded in 1991 by Club Pelican Bay golf members, is a non-profit/tax-exempt charitable organization and since its inception, over 650 students have been awarded more than $3.6 million in scholarships.

“We are excited to have local businesses like J. McLaughlin help support our mission to help change the lives of Collier County students,” says Jim Marinelli Founders Fund board member. “The money raised will help students afford the ability to attend college or technical school.”

In 2017, The Founders Fund awarded 37 Collier County students with $10,000 scholarships for college and post high school education. Students will receive $2,500 per year so long as they maintain a B average or better in their college studies. Currently the Founders Fund provides college scholarships for 96 Collier County high school graduates now attending college and/or technical institutes.
