Cellist Adam Satinsky featured in Naples Community Orchestra season finale
The Naples Community Orchestra (NCO) will host the final performance of its 30th season on Saturday, April 22, 3:00 p.m. at Moorings Presbyterian Church, 791 Harbour Drive in Naples. A reception will follow the concert 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. The orchestra will be conducted by Alvin Ho, artistic director at NCO and who also serves as assistant conductor with the Naples Philharmonic. The program will feature Ludwig van Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture and music from Johannes Brahms. In addition, the orchestra will perform Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme with renowned cellist Adam Satinsky.
During his 25 year tenure with the Naples Philharmonic, Satinsky has been lauded in his role both as a leader of the cello section and as a soloist with the orchestra. He has become a sought-after performer in concert series throughout the Naples area. Since the age of 14, Satinsky has added his unique signature musicianship to the summer festival scene throughout the United States and also in Switzerland and Canada. Satinsky spent his 2020 pandemic lockdown year honing his playing by tackling the monumental etude repertoire, including recording the 40 Popper Etudes in 40 days. His magnificent cello is a Christopher Dungey made in Grand Junction, CO.

The season series is influenced by the community partnerships the orchestra has forged with Artis—Naples, Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) and Collier County Public Schools (CCPS). The orchestra welcomes the participation of student musicians from both FGCU and CCPS high schools. NCO’s partnership with Artis—Naples provides musicians for conducting, sectional rehearsals, soloists, and rehearsal and event space.
