Last week, the Capitol was abuzz with activity as advocates, families, and supporters gathered to mark Developmental Disabilities Awareness Day. This day, now also known as “Logan Lives Day”, serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by individuals with developmental disabilities and the importance of raising awareness and support for their needs.

In conjunction with this event, the Florida Senate demonstrated remarkable unity and bipartisan collaboration by cosponsoring and passing SB 1758. This legislation, which addresses critical issues such as streamlining access to services, accelerating crisis eligibility determinations, and allocating funds to bolster the workforce, represents a significant step forward in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities throughout our state.
