The Founders Fund Hosts Annual Scholars Luncheon

The Founders Fund held their Scholars Luncheon on Thursday December 29, 2016. Scholarship recipients and benefactors of The Founders Fund gathered together at the annual event to celebrate the accomplishments of the scholarship students.

Out of the 111 Founders Fund students currently attending college, there were 28 students home for the holidays who attended the luncheon.

Rob McNaghten, Founders Fund Chair, welcomed guests and emphasized the importance of changing lives through higher education. He thanked sponsors who were in attendance and encouraged the students to reach for their goals.

After lunch was served, the students were invited to speak about their college studies and career goals. Their aspirations included careers in medicine, science, engineering, teaching, psychology, music composition and more. Board members agree that student goals become more impressive each year.

Each year, The Founders Fund awards approximately 25 Collier County students with $8,000 scholarships for college and post high school education. Students receive $2,000 per year so long as they maintain a B average or better in their college studies.
