FLORIDA PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSOCIATION SOUTHWEST FLORIDA CHAPTER IS HELPING YOU “WAKE UP” TO MOBILE TECHNOLOGY IN THE MEDIA

The Florida Public Relations Association Southwest Florida Chapter (FPRA SWFL) wants you to wake up with them on Tuesday, June 7 at the Holiday Inn Airport across from Gulf Coast Town Center. FPRA SWFL will host their annual Media Breakfast, “How Mobile Technology is Revolutionizing the Media,” from 7:30-10:30 a.m. A panel of experts from electronic to print media will discuss changes in technology within various media outlets.

The media panelists for the breakfast are: Amy Tardif, news director at WGCU Public Media; Cory O’Donnell, digital engagement editor at The News-Press; Derrick Shaw, digital producer at The News-Press; Stanley Chambers, digital content director at WINK News; Sasha Bogojevic, founder and publisher of Naples Herald.

Smartphones are transforming how news is gathered, edited, and distributed. This hands-on seminar will give communication professionals, media consumers and anyone wanting to learn how to adopt new technological practices the tools they need to make that happen. This event will teach attendees how to use their mobile devices to create a multimedia news release among other activities.

The cost for attending the presentation is $40 for members, $50 for non-members and $15 for students. Space is limited so please register early. Guests must RSVP online at fpraswfl.org.

Sponsorships for the monthly programs are also available. Three levels of sponsorships are available, ranging from $100 to $500. Sponsors will receive acknowledgement in news releases, complimentary event admission, table display to showcase promotional items, visibility on electronic and print marketing and more, depending on level.
