Boys & Girls Clubs to host 50-year celebration on Nov. 8
Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County is marking its 50-year milestone with an event celebrating the organization’s past – and imagining its future.
The Nov. 8 celebration includes a cocktail party under the stars, dinner and a program recognizing five decades of success fulfilling its mission of enabling children and teens to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
Additionally, guests will have opportunities to tour the newly remodeled Park Meadows Community Club, which will become Boys & Girls Clubs’ flagship location.
“Serving the community for 50 years is a tremendous milestone, and we’re proud to have supported so many young people in becoming responsible, contributing members of their communities,” said Denise Gergley, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County. “Our 50-year event will celebrate our history and longstanding commitment to building great futures for the youth of Lee County while giving a preview of our vision for the decades ahead.”
Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County operates eight community, neighborhood and school clubs, offering after-school and summer programs that focus on education and career, service and leadership, health and wellness, the arts, and sports and recreation.
Renovations began this spring at Park Meadows Community Club, which will feature enclosed activity centers, a teen center, gathering hall, innovation lab, culinary center, youth playground, community conference room, game room, academic center, health and wellness center, “big dreams hub,” creative corner and sports field.
The 50-year celebration starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Park Meadows Community Club, 1900 Park Meadows Drive in Fort Myers. Tickets are $250 per person and event sponsorships start at $2,500. Registration and sponsorship information is available at BGCLee.org/Events.
