Brightwater Lagoon to host Labor Day weekend festivities
Brightwater Lagoon is inviting the community to celebrate Labor Day with four days of entertainment and family-friendly fun.
The festivities kick off on Friday with College Colors Day. Florida Gulf Coast University students, alumni and supporters are encouraged to wear the university colors and enjoy games, drinks and the lagoon all day long. As part of a friendly rivalry among MetroLagoons’ four Florida locations, the college with the most student ticket redemptions will win exclusive discounted admission for students and faculty from September 2025 through May 2026.
Friday will conclude with the Lagoon’s monthly Cigar Night, which will feature a tropical theme. For $5, guests can enjoy music on the steel drums from 8 to 10 p.m. and are encouraged to wear their best Hawaiian shirts for a chance to win a $25 MetroLagoons gift card.
Saturday offers a full day of activities for all ages. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the lagoon will host a field day, featuring relay races to lawn games at The Hub. Starting at noon, college football fans can also catch the season’s kickoff games throughout the lagoon.
On Sunday evening, guests can dust off their boots with a line dancing class from 7 to 9 p.m., perfect for people of all ages and skillsets.
To round out the long weekend, Monday will feature live DJs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. as well as a watermelon eating contest at 2 p.m.
Guests can also enjoy Brightwater Lagoon’s daily offerings, including the floating obstacle course, kayak and paddleboard rentals, splash pad, water slide and swim-up bar, mini-golf course, cabana rentals in Cabana Cove and more.
Through the end of the month, all college students in Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties, as well as teachers of any grade level, will receive 20% off Day Ticket purchases. Tickets must be purchased online with eligibility verified through ID.me. Blackout dates apply.
