Biography
Hi! My name is Monica Nagy I am a SWFL native and a survivor of familial sex trafficking. I am also the founder and executive director of I AM F.U.S.E – F.U.S.E stands for Free, Unashamed, Safe, and Empowered, and our mission is to eradicate human trafficking by empowering one survivor at a time. I’ve always had a passion for empowering women to use their voices to share their stories unashamed. I want to help break the cycle of exploitation by using my experiences and training to equip survivors in our community to become independent, to live a sustainable life, and to live a life of freedom.OUR CORE VALUESFREEWe exist to see every person in this world become free. We believe that human rights are not optional, and we fight for those who can’t yet fight for themselves. UNASHAMEDWe empower survivors by helping them adopt a mindset of inner beauty, worth, and strength. We want survivors to know their past isn’t anything to be ashamed of. We encourage them to know that there is power and strength in sharing their experiences. We want them to live a life fulfilled in their true identity.SAFEAs an organization, we provide a safe place for survivors to receive restoration and rehabilitation services needed. As a movement, we believe in “I AM,” as in “I AM SAFE.” This is a declaration for every survivor and ally. Survivors are able to declare their safety with such empowerment, and allies are able to declare that they are safe, a safe person to be around, and to entrust. EMPOWEREDOur desire is to bring restoration and redemption in every aspect of life to these survivors so they can understand and live a life set apart from their victimization and fully in their purpose. We want them to know their worth and purpose so they can go out into their community and advocate for other survivors who are currently silenced. |

Biography
About Interfaith Charities of South Lee Interfaith Charities of South Lee (ICSL) was established in 1992 by the San Carlos Park/Estero Ministerial Association as a collaborative effort among local churches to better serve residents in need. Our designated service area extends from Gladiolus Road in South Fort Myers down through Coconut Road in Estero. Our earliest programs were designed to meet the needs of seniors, including respite care, Meals on Wheels, parish nursing, transportation to medical appointments, and minor home repairs. As community demographics have shifted over the years, our services have evolved to meet changing needs. Today, ICSL’s primary focus is on addressing food insecurity. With support from the Harry Chapin Food Bank, local retail partners, businesses, churches, neighborhoods, and individual donors, we provide both perishable and shelf-stable food to families in our community. Clients may access the pantry once a week to receive fresh produce, dairy products, and other nutritious items. In addition, ICSL administers a financial assistance program that helps households pay past-due electric and water bills through funding from the United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades. For more than 14 years, we have also served as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site, offering free tax preparation to individuals earning under $70,000 annually. Our staff also assists clients in applying for programs such as SNAP (food stamps) and Medicaid. ICSL also partners with the American Red Cross to provide disaster relief services, ensuring local residents have access to critical resources in times of crisis. These partnerships strengthen our ability to respond effectively and provide a safety net of support for our community. |
