Baby Basics Annual Fashion Show sets new records for fundraising and attendance

Baby Basics of Collier County held their 15th Annual Fashion Show on Friday, November 4 at a local Naples prestigious country club. The luncheon, shopping experience and fashion show event was attended by 279 guests, sponsored by 13 Southwest Florida businesses, and raised over $80,000 to help supply free diapers to low-income working families in Collier County.

The luncheon was emceed again this year by Lois Thome of WINK News, and featured a prosecco reception, pop-up shopping, exquisite lunch, brilliant fashions, volunteer models walking the runway, and Baby Basics President and Founder Jean Ann Lynch, discussing the Baby Basic program.

The on-stage discussion between Lynch and Thome gave attendees an update on the many accomplishments for Baby Basics over the past year and discussed how the non-profit organization continuously adapts to keep up with the community’s needs, as well as the rising cost of diapers.

“Every year I say it was the best yet, and I truly mean it because every year it gets better! Many babies and their families will be happier and healthier this year, thanks to our sponsors, guests, models, contributors, and volunteers. We are beyond grateful,” remarked Jean Ann Lynch, President, and Founder of Baby Basics.

Fashions for the show were provided by Lilly Pulitzer, BU Club, Evelyn & Arthur, and J&K Collections, and the volunteer models walking the runway included: Jo-Anne Berry, Melva Wagner Borley, Kelly Capolino, Lilian Fey, Kim Friedman, Ashley Hoffmeister, Willa Hoffmeister, Alyssa Slattery, Amy Tancreto, Jessica Thompson, and Vicki Tracy.

With the help of donors, sponsors and event attendees, Baby Basics has been steadfast in its mission to supply diapers and kindness to five hundred families currently in the program. Since 2002, Baby Basics has distributed over 12.5 million diapers to babies of over 2500 hard-working families in our community.

ABOUT BABY BASICS:
Baby Basics of Collier County supplies free diapers monthly to low-income, working families in Collier County and is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) volunteer organization. A month’s supply of free diapers allows families to spend their limited resources on food, medicine, or other necessities. Babies have a better chance to thrive because they are dry and comfortable.
