Bellisimo Salon celebrates 20 years in business

Fort Myers salon weathered the Great Recession and hurricanes due to its friendly culture and staff expertise

FORT MYERS, Fla., December 5, 2017 –Bellisimo Salon, Inc., an AVEDA Concept Salon located in Fort Myers, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The locally owned business is a boutique salon offering top of the line personalized service utilizing the most exclusive training and AVEDA’s all natural and eco-friendly products. Bellisimo Salon has survived the recession, hurricanes and more to continue to serve the Southwest Florida area uninterrupted for more than two decades.

“The Bellisimo culture is special and is why clients and staff feel like family. It is the reason why the salon’s growth is organic and almost exclusively by word of mouth. People needed a nurturing and soothing experience during the difficult days of the recession. They still do,” said Lauren “Lo” Jackson, co-owner of Bellisimo Salon.

While other businesses were closing during the recession a few years ago, Bellisimo Salon not only survived, but thrived during that time. Jackson credited the power of touch and relationships. “Our clients come here to visit as much as to get their hair cut and colored or styled for a special occasion,” said Jackson.

What makes Bellisimo Salon exceptional is the staff and the one-on-one experience they offer. It is one reason why some clients have continued to come to the salon for many years. Co-owners Jahn Zynda, one of the original founders of the salon, and Jackson work hard to choose stylists who are the right fit for the salon’s culture.

Jackson herself has a special history with the salon. She was a child when Bellisimo Salon was new and her grandmother was a client. Jackson would accompany her grandmother on trips to the salon, where Zynda would cut her hair. Zynda and Jackson’s relationship has been a long one.

“That’s how long I’ve been a part of this family that Jahn created,” said Jackson. “On my first day, I told Jahn that one day I will own this salon and carry the culture he so deeply believed in because it is one of my most favorite memories as a child.”

In addition to being a haven where everyone is treated like family, the salon’s success is due in part to the commitment to continuing education and advanced training for their stylists. Zynda championed continuing education long before Jackson came on board this past January and both owners invest in their staff by taking them to training and conferences around the country each year.

As an AVEDA Concept Salon, in addition to the specialized training in AVEDA techniques, appointments include coveted AVEDA rituals such as soothing scalp massages before haircuts and a relaxing hand massage while a client’s color is processing. Bellisimo Salon supports many local community organizations including Abuse Counseling & Treatment, Inc.; CCMI; Goodwill Industries; PACE Center for Girls; and AVEDA special interests including breast cancer fundraising. Art in the salon was purchased at Arts for ACT annual fundraisers.
