Better Together, Kissimmee Fellowship Church to host community job fair Feb. 21 in Kissimmee

Better Together, a nonprofit dedicated to families and children, is partnering with Kissimmee Fellowship Church to host a community job fair for area residents from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21.

Better Together’s jobs initiative is a vital part of the nonprofit’s mission to help families thrive and build strong communities. The organization helps parents who are going through a difficult time to keep their kids out of foster care, find work and address the root causes of their struggle so that they can reunite as a family with the tools and support system to thrive. The jobs initiative was created to help the 76% of parents in the program who can trace the root cause of their struggle to job loss. The job fairs are open to all job seekers in the community.

To date, the program has served more than 15,000 children and kept 98% of families served through mentoring and hosting out of the state system, while helping 40,000 job seekers across 24 states find employment. At job fairs hosted by Better Together, two-thirds of attendees get a job interview, and 1 in 4 receive a job offer on the spot. Some 70% find work within six weeks.

Registration is now open for hiring employers and job seekers to participate in the February event. The church-based job fair not only connects job seekers with local employers who are ready to hire, but also provides resources to facilitate stronger connections and more hires. Free one-on-one job coaching sessions are also available to job seekers to review resumes and interviewing skills, and additional services will be available onsite.

The Feb. 21 job fair will take place at Flora Ridge Elementary School, located at 2900 Dyer Blvd. in Kissimmee. Job seekers and employers can register at BetterTogetherUS.org/KissimmeeFellowship or by texting “JOBS” to 844-987-3949.
