Better Together, RidgePoint Church to host second chance job fair June 9 in Winter Haven
Better Together, a nonprofit on a mission to build strong families and communities, is partnering with RidgePoint Church to host a second chance job fair on Tuesday, June 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Registration is now open for job seekers and employers to participate in the June event. Second chance job fairs promote the power of second chances for neighbors who face barriers to employment. These can include past incarceration, homelessness, lack of transportation or child care, or gaps in employment.
With a spirit of hope and celebration, the church-based job fairs empower job seekers by connecting them with local employers who are ready to hire, while offering supportive services that foster meaningful connections and increase opportunities for lasting employment. Free one-on-one job coaching sessions are available to job seekers to review resumes, and additional services will be available onsite.
The June 9 job fair will take place at RidgePoint Church, located at 100 Hatfield Road in Winter Haven. Job seekers and employers can register at BetterTogetherUS.org/RidgePoint or by texting “JOBS” to 844-987-3949.
With job openings available across various industries, a growing list of participating employers includes The Agricultural and Labor Program, Inc., Kane’s Furniture and more.
Local resource partners will also join Better Together in offering various onsite services, including The Agricultural and Labor Program, Inc., Recovery Connections of Central Florida, St. Petersburg College, United Way of Central Florida and more.
The job fair is part of Better Together’s “Better Jobs” program, which has helped more than 50,000 applicants connect with employment opportunities across 25 states.
