“For the last 22 years, our gymnasium has been an integral building allowing us to host the City of Palms Classic basketball tournament, as well as our indoor athletic competitions, physical education classes, graduation ceremonies, homecoming dances, and some liturgical celebrations,“ said Dr. Denny Denison, Bishop Verot principal. “The building has such a rich history in its young 22 years we have to ensure it remains on our campus for our students’ future children to enjoy.”

In addition to hosting countless school events and Verot’s annual fund-raising gala, the Nevins Gymnasium has hosted community organizations’ activities throughout its history.

“Everyone in the Bishop Verot community is excited and on board,” Development Director Gina Lombardo said. Students, administration and faculty are all involved with the effort. On Sunday, Nov. 27, students visited Southwest Florida’s Catholic parishes to reach out to the Catholic community for support.
