Boys & Girls Club of Collier County receives $15,000 donation, school supplies from Comerica Bank

Comerica Bank donated $15,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County for its “Grand Slam for Great Futures” campaign, which provides scholarships for children and teens whose families could not otherwise afford the full cost of programs.

While presenting the donation on Sept. 29, Comerica executives announced an expanded partnership that includes financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs at the Boys & Girls Club. The bank also donated new school supplies, including calculators, notebooks, folders, markers, glue sticks and art supplies.

“We are so thankful for Comerica Bank’s generous donation, which will provide additional student members with access to Boys & Girls Club programming as well as give them the tools necessary to succeed academically,” said Megan McCarthy Beauvais, President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County. “Our team is eager to work with a corporate partner like Comerica Bank that recognizes the importance of serving both its customers and the community.”

The donation coincided with Comerica’s national launch of gomerica, a mobile bank bus that offers most traditional banking services and features a Banker Connect Interactive Teller Machine that allows customers to have live video chats with bank representatives. Comerica held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce on Sept. 29 at the Boys & Girls Club, the launch site for the mobile bank bus.

“It was great receiving positive feedback about gomerica from local community leaders,” said Comerica Bank Florida Market President David Kunik. “Their continued support will be vital to our success in the Naples market as we strive to make financial tools and resources more readily accessible and convenient to a larger demographic – the fully banked, underbanked and unbanked.”

The Boys & Girls Club of Collier County serves more than 3,000 children and teens annually through clubs and after-school programs at two locations in Collier County – the Nichols Campus in Naples and the Bolch Campus in Immokalee.
