Cause for the Paws Event Supports the Gulf Coast Humane Society
Dress for Success Community Action Project raises funds, awareness
Barbara Dell, Executive Director of Dress for Success SW Florida, is pleased to announce that April Bordeaux of the Professional Women’s Group has been selected to Chair this year’s Community Action Project (CAP). The title of her project is called Cause for the Paws Southwest Florida.
Cause for the Paws Southwest Florida will host a “Yappy Hour Pawty” on Friday, April 11, from 6-8 p.m. at the Bell Tower Shops Center Court. All funds raised will benefit Gulf Coast Humane Society (GCHS). Save the date for this exciting event featuring a “Dogs on the Catwalk” fashion show, food, drinks, live entertainment, raffles and vendors of pet related products and services. Admission is free and no registration is required.
The fashion show will feature a Dressed for Success category for the best owner/pet duo dressed the same, Most Creative Costume and Mr. or Mrs. Congeniality for pets with personality to spare. Entry fee is $5. Pets available for adoption will also take to the catwalk in hopes of finding a forever home during the Diamonds in the Ruff segment. GCHS will accept donations of funds and pet supplies, so bring your donations to help us fill the fountain at Center Court.

The Professional Women’s Group (PWG) is a networking, job retention and professional development program that empowers employed Dress for Success SW Florida clients to aspire for self-defined success through motivation, mentoring, resources, training and partnership with professional women in the community. Bordeaux was selected as the 2013-2014 delegate to represent PWG Worldwide with the Community Action Project, an annual project designed by Dress for Success Global for the purpose of reaching out into the community and helping an underserved organization. She chose to establish Cause for the Paws to end the euthanization of healthy pets by educating the community about spay and neuter programs while inspiring people to adopt, not buy, their next furry family member.
