“Cruising for a Cause” to be held on March 22, 2018

Human trafficking and genocide survivor, Marta Sicajan, and Miracles in Action founder, Penny Rambacher, are teaming up to host Cruising for a Cause on March 22, 2018.

The cruise, aboard the Naples Princess, will board at 5:30pm from Port-O-Call with 100% of the proceeds going to Women’s Empowerment in the most remote villages of Guatemala.

The memorable sunset sail will include live and silent auctions, live music, hors d’oeuvres, welcome champagne, and cash bar. “Beyond Fair Trade” beaded jewelry made by Marta and the women of Guatemala will be for sale and benefit indigenous Mayan artisans. Waterside Neighbor Publisher, Ron Klein, will serve as the evening’s live auctioneer. Auction items will include vacation trips, fine jewelry, and more. Silent auction and raffles ensure there will be something to excite every guest. E. Sue Huff will serve as the night’s emcee.

Tickets for the night of fun “fundraising” are $75 per person and may be purchased at www.MiraclesInAction.org, by calling 239-348-0815, or emailing Admin@MiraclesInAction.org.

About Marta Sicajan: She has been featured on the cover of èBella Magazine, shared her story of survival, freedom, and giving back. “Sicajan, 45, of Guatemala, has survived genocide, extreme poverty and hunger, abuse, human trafficking, rape, health issues and more to become a gem of Southwest Florida, giving back to the community in ways that only she can.” Marta looks forward to co-hosting this event with Miracles in Action to empower women across Guatemala, helping marginalized Mayan women in remote villages, improving self-esteem, teaching women reproductive health and nutrition, and addressing social issues such as domestic violence and human trafficking.
