Fort Myers, Fla – (February 3, 2025) – Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), in collaboration with the Golisano Intellectual and Developmental Disability Initiative (GIDDI) and Lee Health, will host the first Symposium for IDD-Focused Agencies/Organizations on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at FGCU Cohen Ballroom.
This symposium aims to enhance collaboration among organizations serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Southwest Florida. Attendees will explore innovative approaches, best practices, and strategies for delivering quality, person-centered services that promote inclusivity and effectiveness across the lifespan.
The event will feature expert guest speakers, collaborative sessions, and networking opportunities, fostering meaningful discussions on improving IDD services. Participants will also be able to connect with professionals, service providers, and community advocates working to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for individuals with IDD.
FGCU’s Marieb College of Health & Human Services, through the GIDDI initiative, continues to advance its mission of improving IDD services through education, research, and community engagement.
