Fort Myers Brewing to host ‘Chopped’ winner Gavin Jobe as guest food truck Nov. 11
Fort Myers Brewing Company is hosting Louisiana chef, restaurateur and Food Network’s Chopped winner Gavin Jobe as a guest food truck on Friday, Nov. 11 from 2 to 11 p.m.
In addition to running his restaurant businesses, Jobe established a catering business, On the Fly Disaster Relief, to feed relief workers after Hurricane Ida impacted Louisiana in 2021 and his catering team travels to disaster areas to feed people after storms. For four weeks following Hurricane Ian, On the Fly served Florida Department of Transportation workers who were responsible for the reconstruction of the Sanibel Causeway before moving its cooking trailer to Fort Myers Beach to provide contractors with hot plated lunches. Jobe met Fort Myers Brewing Co-owners Rob and Jen Whyte while they were operating their mobile laundromat to provide clean clothes to residents of Fort Myers Beach.
On Friday, On the Fly will be serving Hispanic and Tex-Mex style meals from its food truck, featuring specialty dishes from each of the team’s cooks that are inspired by their home countries. On the Fly will be serving up food at Fort Myers Brewing throughout the day alongside brewery regulars Don’t Give Up Food Truck and The Meat Cottage.
Guests can enjoy live music by Chasing Denver at 7 p.m.
For Veterans Day, the brewery is also offering all veterans $1 off their beer with a military badge or ID.
