Fort Myers Derby Girls set to conquer the Gold Coast on August 23

As a proud sponsor of the Fort Myers Derby Girls, Cre8 Salon & Spa announces tickets are available now for the team’s next home bout against the Gold Coast Derby Grrls, 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 23 at Bamboozles Skating and Event Center, 2095 Andrea Lane in Fort Myers. Happy hour starts at 4:45 p.m., and donations will be collected for Oma’s Heart, which provides Christmas gifts to financially struggling families. Advance tickets are $10, and can be ordered at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2067989. Tickets at the door are $12.

This is fans’ second-to-last chance to see the team in its 2015 home season. Expect to see hard hits, fancy footwork and fast paced jams at this family friendly bout as the Girls take on the Grrls and collect donations for a great cause. Fans are asked to bring the following, based on a wish list provided by Oma’s Heart: toys for children birth to age 2, toys for children ages 9-12, gift cards, movie tickets, sports balls (football, basketballs, soccer balls), stuffed animals, batteries of all sizes, Magic Tape, Christmas wrapping paper and stocking stuffing items.

Following the bout, meet and mingle with the skaters at Stevie Tomato’s Sports Page at 9510 Marketplace Road in Fort Myers.

Cre8 Salon & Spa owner Marcy Moreno said, “Fort Myers Derby Girls empowers its team members to work hard, have fun and make a difference in the community. That’s not too different from what we do at Cre8 every day, so it’s a natural organization for us to support. If you’ve never been to a roller derby bout, you’re in for a real treat on August 23!”

The final home bout in the home season is on September 27 vs. South Florida Roller Girls, also at Bamboozles. Fort Myers Derby Girls is recruiting skaters, referees, non-skating officials, announcers and volunteers. Learn more at www.fortmyersderbygirls.com.
