Gulf Coast Village to host July 23 community celebration and ribbon-cutting

To celebrate the completion of a year-long exterior renovation, Gulf Coast Village will host a ribbon-cutting and community celebration at 11 a.m. on July 23 that features food trucks and live music.

Since opening its doors in 1989, Gulf Coast Village – Cape Coral’s only life plan community – has weathered some of Southwest Florida’s most challenging and devastating hurricanes, providing safe shelter for all residents and staff. Despite many storms, the community has never flooded or been required to evacuate residents in advance of a storm.

Upgrades to Gulf Coast Village’s independent living apartments include hurricane-resistant windows and doors, as well as exterior enhancements that give the campus a fresh, modern appearance while preserving the community’s signature warm, welcoming environment. The renovation further strengthens Gulf Coast Village’s commitment to residents’ safety and comfort.

“The completion of our community’s renovations marks the start of a new chapter for Gulf Coast Village,” said Sarah Richard, executive director of Gulf Coast Village. “The safety and happiness of our residents is always our top priority, and these renovations will ensure that our residents remain protected and comfortable for years to come.”

The ribbon-cutting celebration will be hosted by the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral, and the community celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, at Gulf Coast Village’s independent living portico, located at 1333 Santa Barbara Blvd. in Cape Coral. The event is free and open to the public and will feature local food trucks, music by Gulf Grooves and opportunities to learn more about Gulf Coast Village and its resort-style living options.
