James Stephens Elementary hosting ‘Fall Fest’ for Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres families on Nov. 18

James Stephens Elementary School is hosting a Fall Fest to celebrate the season with food, entertainment and family fun.

The free community event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 at James Stephens Elementary, 1333 Marsh Ave. in Fort Myers.

Attendees will enjoy fresh food prepared and provided by local restaurants and organizations, as well as raffle prizes, educational games for children of all ages and other surprises.

James Stephens opened in 2009 as a K-8 school, but has since transitioned into a K-5 school with innovative educational programs and activities focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) instruction.

“Although we have been a proud member of this community for 12 years, James Stephens is enjoying its rebirth as an elementary school and we wanted to share our excitement with families in the area,” said Principal Kelly Stedman. “Our vision for James Stephens is to become the elementary school of choice for families in central Fort Myers, east Fort Myers and Lehigh Acres, and we also want to partner with local businesses and organizations to help our entire community grow stronger.”

Fall Fest partners demonstrate that commitment as more than a dozen businesses and nonprofits have pledged their support, including Community Cooperative, Publix, Priority Marketing, City First Church, AFCAAM, Mac Daddy’s, Ms. Don’s SnoCones, Florida SouthWestern Collegiate High School, Fort Myers Police Department, Dunbar High School, Lehigh Acres Middle School, Oak Hammock Middle School, Harns Marsh Middle School and Bayshore Elementary.

Across Lee County, kindergarten pre-registration for the 2022-23 school year runs through Nov. 30. The School District of Lee County’s annual student enrollment period begins in January for students entering kindergarten, sixth and ninth grades next August. James Stephens staff will be able to assist families in pre-registering kindergartners during the Fall Fest.
