Jewish Federation of Greater Naples announces Jewish Community Day of Learning March 22

The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples presents Rabbi David Dalin speaking on the impact of Jewish Justices on the Supreme Court at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 22 at Temple Shalom, with the option to attend virtually.

Dr. Dalin, a senior research fellow at Brandeis University will discuss the Jewish background and legacies of the eight Jewish justices who have served on the court, with particular focus on the legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg and the retirement of Justice Stephen Breyer. He has written the first history of the Jewish Justices, “Jewish Justices of the Supreme Court: From Brandeis to Kagan.” Dalin has also authored, coauthored or edited 11 other books, including “The Presidents of the United States and the Jews.”

The mission of the annual program is to celebrate Jewish life and learning, connecting Jews of all backgrounds to their Jewish heritage. Last year, the event was a “Day and Night of Learning and attracted more than 200 people. This year’s event was reduced due to the uncertainty of COVID-19. The full program is expected to return next year.
