Lee Health Heart Institute receives $50,000 donation
Laurye and Wayne O’meila of Fort Myers were so inspired by a presentation at the inaugural Grateful Hearts event last February that they donated $50,000 to the Lee Health Heart Institute.
“We were extremely impressed to learn about the cutting-edge programs and innovative technology to improve the state of cardiac care at Lee Health,” said Wayne. “It is our distinct pleasure to make a meaningful contribution to support these efforts now and for the future of cardiac care.”
The Grateful Hearts event held at St. Charles Yacht Club will take place again on several dates at various locations in Fort Myers and offers guests the opportunity to hear from experts sharing compelling perspectives on the latest innovations driving quality heart health care in Southwest Florida, including artificial intelligence capabilities, advanced surgical techniques, non-invasive heart imaging and robotics.
“While offering exceptional care, the Lee Health Heart Institute also aims to pioneer new treatments to improve outcomes and continue saving lives,” said Malissa Wood, Chief Physician Executive at Lee Health Heart Institute. “We are grateful for the financial support of the community to continue and advance the groundbreaking work being done.”
Their donation will stay in the community, providing the health care team with the latest equipment and technology to meet the growing needs of the thousands of patients served. For information on how to support exceptional healthcare in your community, visit LeeHealthFoundation.org/Heart.
