MADD receives 2017 Diamond Volunteer Award from Kelly E. Capolino

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) volunteers were honored as 2017 Diamond Volunteer award winners by Kelly E. Capolino, local Realtor and founder of the Diamond Volunteer Awards program. The organization’s volunteers and guests were treated to a reception and award ceremony on March 9, 2017.

The reception recognized the dedicated volunteers of the MADD organization and praised their hard work, countless volunteer hours, and their willingness to be ambassadors for the organization’s mission. Capolino presented the Diamond Volunteer framed award to Malaina Mote, MADD’s Program Specialist.

The group was selected from among many applicants for their valuable contributions they make in the lives of the families who are victims of crimes by individuals driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. MADD is dedicated to providing education, campaigns, and awareness to prevent others from drunk driving, drugged driving and underage drinking.

Capolino, local real estate professional with Downing-Frye Realty, founded the award program in 2009 with the first awards presented in 2010. Each year groups are chosen based on their exceptional volunteer dedication and the positive influence that they make in the lives of others.

Since the Diamond Volunteer Awards inception, there have been three groups chosen each year with the exception of one year when four groups were honored. The program is now in its eighth year and will celebrate a “Silver” milestone this season when the total number of non-profit organizations receiving the award reaches 25.
