‘Not So Silent Night Show & Auction’ raises $13,770 for Barbara’s Friends

The event hosted by DJ Anothony Roach and Rock 103.3 supported children with cancer at Golisano Children’s Hospital

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Dec. 14, 2023) – DJ Anthony Roach, along with Rock 103.3, hosted the “Not So Silent Night Show & Auction” at The Ranch Concert Hall and Saloon Dec. 7, raising $13,770 to provide critical support for programs and services for local children diagnosed with cancer through Barbara’s Friends – Golisano Children’s Hospital’s cancer fund.
The event included performances by 10 Years, Lost Hearts and Vallion, support by Heaven’s Door Whiskey, and a silent auction with rock memorabilia and business donations, including a year of beer, a new installed jacuzzi, dinner for six with former UFC Champ Tito Ortiz and more.

“What a night! Southwest Florida came through big time!” Roach said. “Thanks to local businesses and all our partners, we were able to support kids with cancer and their families.”

Each year, Barbara’s Friends funds help families with children in treatment, such as providing gas cards to make sure kids can get to and from Golisano, paying for medications when insurance will not cover at-home chemo or pain relief drugs, or purchasing meals so parents can stay by their children during treatment. Barbara’s Friends also offers college scholarships, so that survivors can apply for college funds.

“We are so grateful for Rock 103.3 and the entire team at Sun Broadcasting for hosting the ‘Not So Silent Night Show & Auction’ and support for Barbara’s Friends,” said Amy Frith, senior director of Barbara’s Friends. “These funds will provide essential care and support for local children battling cancer and their families at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, especially in time for the holidays. Thank you to everyone who participated for being a friend!”

Thanks to events and the generous Southwest Florida community, Barbara’s Friends has a 28-year history of helping kids with cancer and life-threatening blood disorders. To date, Barbara’s Friends has cared for more than 10,000 local children.
