Preferred Travel of Naples held their annual travel showcase on February 17 at Club Pelican Bay with over 450 guests in attendance. The For the Love of Travel themed travel event marked the 13th year for Preferred Travel’s annual extravaganza and the 13th year for benefitting a local non-profit organization. It was one of the last events to be held in Naples before COVID 19 and social distancing changed the lives of everyone worldwide.
Each year, Preferred Travel selects a non-profit charitable organization to benefit from the event; this year the event raised over $32,000 to benefit the Guadalupe Center.
“We are so grateful for everyone who made this donation possible,” said Olga Placeres, President of Preferred Travel. “Now, more than ever, our non-profit organizations need our assistance so they can continue to provide their vital services to those in need. We know there will be trying times ahead for everyone but we want to do what we can to support our community as they have supported us for so many years.”
This year’s recipient, the Guadalupe Center, has worked to break the cycle of poverty for the children of Immokalee through education. Since 1984, Guadalupe Center has been making a difference for students and families of Immokalee through three programs that include early childhood education, after-school tutoring, tutor corps. And summer enrichment.
